A vocalist from Norwich captured a standing ovation during her audition for Britain's Got Talent. Emma Nuule, 38, impressed both the judges and the audience with a powerful operatic rendition. A dedicated performer, Nuule also works as a special educational needs (SEN) support teacher and regularly graces venues around Norwich, sometimes performing as a street busker to share her gift.
Nuule’s audition featured a rich performance of Nessun Dorma, the famous aria from Puccini’s Turandot, a piece long associated with the legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti. She performed for judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and the show’s new permanent judge, KSI.
Historically, Nuule has appeared at events such as the National Film Awards, the British Restaurant Awards, and the Golden Lion Awards, adding to her growing list of stage credits. When asked what drove her to audition, she explained she longed to perform on a grand stage and to be seen on a global platform.
Nuule admitted she felt nerve-wracked before stepping on stage, but said the moment she began singing was incredibly rewarding. “People in the audience were standing up and cheering,” she recalled, describing the moment as emotionally overwhelming to receive such a powerful, positive response.
Feedback from the judges was uniformly enthusiastic. Simon Cowell, who has judged for nearly two decades, noted that while he usually prefers male singers performing Nessun Dorma, Nuule delivered a standout rendition. He praised her performance as “really, really good.”
KSI, a musician and YouTuber, offered high praise, saying the performance sent a shiver down his spine. Hosts Ant and Dec joined in, describing Nuule as “special” and complimenting her vocal talent.
With four yeses from the judges, Emma Nuule advanced to the next round of Britain’s Got Talent. Reflecting on the moment, she said the experience was surreal and overwhelming in the best possible way.
